Touch Inspect™ is an application for Windows Mobile, XP, Vista and Windows 7 devices, which provides enterprise class, media-enhanced, geospatially intelligent, asset-centric field data collection and worker decision support.

That’s quite a mouthful, isn’t it? Let’s break it down:

  • Enterprise-class. To many developers, ‘enterprise-class’ is only a buzzword… A selling point which must be given lip service in order to appear legitimate. We at Mobile Epiphany know what enterprise-class truly means: being capable of serving thousands of mobile users, providing and distributing data simultaneously to that entire workforce, and using industry-standard technology with world-class IT infrastructure.
  • Media-enhanced. Users can pre-load images to help identify asset types, and workers can capture images in the field (with full image editing/markup tools) to use for actual inspection and reporting needs. Images can additionally be stored and used for comparison during subsequent inspections.
  • Geospatially intelligent. Maps and GPS have revolutionized the way we navigate and interact with the world. Why shouldn’t your inspectors have the same advantage – built into and integrated with their actual workflow? Not only can you map your assets and breadcrumb your inspection progress, you can also map filtered data by any combination of user-defined properties and time/date stamps… and yes, it can be done right on your handheld device.
  • Asset-centric. ‘Assets’ can be many things: an airplane, a water main, or a patient in a hospital. Assets can be geospatial or not. Whatever they may be, Touch Inspect allows inspectors to create and inspect assets in the field, and more importantly, allows them to work in an intuitive, linear or non-linear work flow… just like they already do. Once completed, Touch Inspect can also organize and submit the inspection report wirelessly.
  • Field data collection. Touch Inspect provides more answer types than any other product on the market today, and more sophisticated logic flows, including answer-dependent progressions and data-entry validation. These and many other advanced means enable you to convert your existing forms and processes into seamless, simple-to-follow workflows for your mobile workforce. And all this can be configured quickly and easily in our advanced setup tools.
  • Decision support. When questions arise, inspectors can review asset and inspection histories with ease, providing incredibly relevant comparison data. With access to so much information, your inspectors can’t help but be more informed and independently capable in the field.

Additionally, Touch Inspect has been designed from inception for mass user acceptance at all levels of an organization. Not only have all aspects of Touch Inspect been designed using the best practices of traditional software function and graphical user interface (GUI) design, we have also incorporated innovations from video game interface theory and navigational awareness precepts.

The Touch Inspect UI engages the user, using explicit language and animated linear pathways to allow new users to get to work quickly and easily. At the same time, a much deeper array of advanced features and controls are available for more experienced users.
